Tokyo Bayshore

Over the dark water of Tokyo Bay, the elevated expressway runs in long, lit straights and sweeping bridges. Even at midnight the shoreline draws bright lines across the bay, and the city skyline glitters on the far side. This is the opening pulse of the journey — the empty late-night lane, the rev limiter, the meter frozen, eyes aligned with the road. From here the route turns west, toward the coast and the dawn.
