Nanao and Notojima
Twin Bridge Noto A summer detour to see the bridge and sea from the park
For a stop on a summer evening, I’d like to take in the whole bridge from Nagaura Uruoi Park. Nanao Bay spreads beyond cables stretching from the great towers, and a different light from daytime lies on the water. Perhaps I’ll end today’s trip with this view.
This scene is at summer dusk. I’ve stopped at the park’s viewing space to look at the bridge and Nanao Bay.

Time to look down at the road I was driving a moment ago
I left the car at Nagaura Uruoi Park and climbed a little higher. The bridge towers stood before me, their cables stretching towards the sea. Up close, the bridge was much larger than it had looked in photos.
Resting a hand on the fence, I thought I could still feel a little of the day’s warmth. I was glad I’d worn short sleeves. A winding road lay below, with the bridge beyond, as though I were looking back over the drive I’d just made.
Light stretched across the sea. Distant shores and islands overlapped beyond it, and even when I tried to photograph only the bridge, I wanted to include the water. The breeze moved my skirt, and I turned a little too.
My driving friend had sent a message asking how far I’d gone today. I sent a photo, and she replied that I’d found a lovely place. Yes—I’d only understood it myself once I stopped here.
I even remembered the sushi I’d eaten in Nanao at lunchtime. Looking at the sea brought back the time spent choosing local fish. If I came with my friend, I’d like to discuss food stops in advance too.
After deciding it was nearly time to leave, I took just one more photo. Searching for an angle that included both the towers and sea kept me here a little longer again. I’d like to leave room for an evening like this at the end of a planned drive.

What I’d like to taste here
Sushi in Nanao
The prefecture’s suggested itineraries also introduce Nanao as a destination for sushi. For a meal before the park, I’d like to choose the day’s fish.
Places I’d like to stop
A bridge viewed from the park
Nagaura Uruoi Park has a car park. Wanting a photo of towers and sea together, I stayed longer while searching for an angle.
A view leading towards Notojima
Built as the second access route after Notojima Bridge. Seeing how the bridge stretches to the opposite shore makes me curious about where to drive next.
A bridge across the bay
Twin Bridge Noto (Nakanoto Farm Road Bridge)
- Bridge length
- 620 m total length
- Areas linked
- Nakajima in Nanao City and Notojima
From the park, look at the towers and cables, with Nanao Bay beyond.
This detour is to the park beside the bridge. Leaving the car and looking from a slightly higher place lets you see clearly how the bridge reaches across the bay.
